The Wolverines got off to a fast start on Friday night, beating the rival Mercer Island Islanders 77-37. They were led by senior point guard Brady Kageyama who had 23 points off of 10/12 FG and 3/4 from 3-point range. Senior forward Alex Yu also provided some scoring from the interior, and sophomore guard Bryce Smith had 11 points and many steals off of Bellevue’s vicious press defense. It was a great way to make a statement against Mercer Island, as Head Coach Kelly Edwards and the Wolverines move on to 1-0 on their season and are looking to improve on Tuesday against Liberty.
