Varsity vs. Garfield

The Bellevue Wolverines ended up getting 4th place in the 3A districts tournament, losing 45-62 to the Garfield Bulldogs. The Wolverines started off strong thanks to contributions from seniors Alex Yu, Brady Kageyama, and junior Hogan Hansen, leading by 3 at halftime. However, the Wolverines began to miss several shots in the interior and from the free throw line in the 2nd half, while Garfield stars Jaylin Stewart and Legend Smiley began to dominate the transition game against Bellevue’s defense. Bellevue had a few surges thanks to sophomore Bryce Smith and junior Kenyan Jackman-Thomas in the early 4th quarter, but Garfield didn’t fall apart and sealed the victory. The Wolverines now head to regionals in a win-or-go home game this upcoming weekend, where they will face the winner of the Mountainview vs. Auburn Mountainview game as the #10 seed in the state tournament.
